长期从事先进电子显微学方法和技术及其在医学与生物、材料交叉领域的应用研究。主持国家自然科学基金项目、国家科技重大专项(四大慢病重大专项)子课题、江苏省基础研究计划重点项目、江苏省自然科学基金项目,校企合作项目等40余项。在Nature Materials, Nature Communications等国际知名期刊发表SCI论文60余篇,他引4900余次,H因子35,连续多年入选美国斯坦福大学和爱思唯尔数据库发布的全球前2%顶尖科学家榜单(World’s Top 2% Scientists)。授权技术发明专利7项,在国际上首次提出三维空间结构叠加单原子成份信息的四维成像技术,被国家科研仪器案例库收录,并被中国科学技术协会评为优秀案例,荣获江苏省分析测试协会科学技术奖一等奖等多个奖项。
